their imagination circulates
with that which is given them:
as if an ever more constricting diet of imagination
lifelong to be repeated
which constitutes their community's organism,
no head, but a collective obedience
all subjectivity eliminated;
one public voice, a meaningless opinion
like a thunder, a unifying sound addressed to everyone:
everyone responding in a uniform voice
a sensibility alien to choice that never practiced liberty
an imagination infested with fear of the stranger
a community copulating in darkness ever darker
their very own flesh a plague of fantasies
